What is an RDHAP?
A Registered Dental Hygienist in Alternative Practice (RDHAP) is a licensed dental hygienist who has received additional training and education. As a licensed dental hygienist with specialized training I am currently registered with the Dental Hygiene Board of California (DHBC) and practicing in Carlsbad, California. I can provide preventative dental care and hygiene services in non-traditional settings. This expanded role empowers RDHAPs to provide care in a designated area and bring quality dental care to those who may face barriers to access.

In-Home Dental Hygiene Visits
RDHAPs can provide a range of services, including oral health assessments, preventative cleanings, Perio and/or deep cleanings, dental x-rays and referrals when necessary.
Oral Health Education & Nutritional Counseling
Tailored home care instructions to meet patients needs. Nutritional counseling aims to help patient reduce their risk for dental disease like gum disease and tooth decay.
Support & Referral Networks
Although RDHAPs can work independently without the supervision of a dentist, I value collaboration and work closely with local dentists and healthcare providers, I prioritize maintaining these trusted relationships to ensure my patients receive the guidance and support they need when necessary.
